Thank you to Sam for the following photo.
This year I was given the absolute privilege of being form captain for the amazing and slightly dysfunctional class of 12E. Our dysfunctionality one attribute of the unique variety of people that we are. I mean we have Georgie who can swim for 24 hours, we have Nellie who can’t make it across the pool at all… we have Amy who can wield the badminton racket like a sword, we have Mikala who can really rock the green hair, and we have Michelle and Lucinda who can really put on a good roast. But despite all our differences, we have still meshed together to become the family that we are.
Macrob hasn’t been an easy ride for us. We stumbled through year 9, labelled the rebel class because of the outspoken Jenny and the bunch of us that apparently didn't take our books to class. Year 10 was a test run for the new course and we were separated based on our electives, so time spent as a form was limited, and before we knew it, VCE loomed over us. Year 11 and 12 have been a blur of studies, sacs and scores, but in the midst of it, we still managed to create some treasurable memories, from busting out to Backstreet Boys to winning enviro dress for our Yetti wedding. The undeniable bond that has been present amongst us since day 1 has progressively become stronger and we always find ourselves unified, like over the sadness of sarah’s dislocated knee to the excitement of food Friday. Within 12E I have certainly found friends who care unconditionally and people who are always willing to listen with silent understanding. Melba, Ravali Georgie and Himasha, thank you for listening to my woes at the lockers. To Amy and Ivy and Molly, thank you for always sparing a minute to smile and chat with me whether it be in form or in the corridors. To Saumyaa and Jinny, I know I ask you guys a lot of random questions in distress so thank you for always answering them and helping me out. To Michelle and Lucinda you guys are hilarious and never fail to put a smile on my face so thank you. Dessi, you have an amazing artistic talent and I’m so grateful for the effort you put in to complete our form challenges. Sarah, Carmen and Mikala, you guys were my first friends in our form, thank you for being so open and loving me regardless, I’ve sure had some good times with you guys. Jenny, there are million ways to describe you, but throughout the years you’ve been a loyal friend, always acknowledging me whenever you see me, so thank you, it means a lot. Kirisha, Nellie, Kalpana, Katherine, Shirley, Eshaka and Richa, a big thanks to you guys, for making me happy, sad, angry; for making me laugh, cry and smile, and for always having my back. And to Mr Francis and Mr Maaser, thank you for guiding us through the years with your wise words and incredible patience. Without you, we’d be lost.
Finally I want to finish with this quote “Each friend represents a world in us, a world possibly not born until they arrive, and it is only by this meeting that a new world is born”. 12E you’ve been my backbone and after meeting you, I have been living in a world that has made the last 4 years the most joyous time of my life. So thank you, and I hope, like me, that you all will cherish our memories in the years to come. I wish you all the best of luck!
