This is Angelique Kerber who has just won the Australian Open 2016, beating world number 1, Serena Williams. Few commentators predicted this result. Angelique was confronted with overwhelming odds ... and prevailed. She had self belief. She had mental toughness. She had done all the hard work and willed herself to the line beyond the expectations of most people.
