Swimming Carnival 2015

The annual swimming carnival, held on the 16th of February, was the first whole school event of 2015. Transitioning into VCE has been huge and the swimming carnival was an opportunity for us to wind down for a relaxed day of friendly competition, as well as a great showcase of swimming talent.

HOUSE THEMES

Nereids : Greece / Grease (the film) / Grease (oil)
  • best dressed - Greek salad dressing costume

Naiads : Nerds
  • best dressed - the inseparable pair of Willy Wonka Nerds

Oreads : Circus
  • best dressed: the Oreads house captains who came as two adorable matching big tops

Dryads : Magic/Fantasy
  • best dressed: the two very serious Slytherin girls

Fantastically punny costumes and an amazing show of house pride. ✌

A special congratulations to two girls of our own Emily Yang (Nereids) and Georgie Warren (Naiads) for placing as "Under 17 age group champion” and “Under 16 age group champion” respectively. Georgie broke 2 records and Emily broke 5 records - incredible job girls!!

Click here for a short interview with Georgie about her swimming carnival experience.

Congratulations to Nereids for winning the swimming carnival! Woooooo 8th year in a row! (woah boom boom yes!)

An excellent effort from the other houses as well :)

Special thanks to the Pallas photographers for capturing these amazing shots of the day.

Looking forward to next year's swimming shenanigans!
